O’Neil G Lewis
Senior Pastor – Trustee
Pastor O’Neil G Lewis is the Senior Pastor and Chair of Bethel Lighthouse CIO. He a qualified electrician, owning his own business in electrical, electronic and property services.
Pastor O’Neil Lewis served as the Assistant Pastor to the Late Elder F T Brown. Within the church Pastor O’Neil Lewis served in many roles and his life was kept busy in various areas of ministries, they included: teaching junior children, Men’s President, locally and on a district wise, Youth President, a position he held for many years.
In 2012 due to ill-health Pastor F T Brown decided to hand the baton over to Elder O’Neil Lewis and made recommendation to the National Executive Board for his appointment, with this agreement and notification to the members of Bethel Lighthouse on 3rd June 2013 Elder O’Neil Lewis was installed as Pastor of Bethel Lighthouse, Walsall.
Pastor O’Neil Lewis has passion for people and the community, and his vision is to ensure the church is a light to the people of Walsall and the wider community. He has been instrumental in ensuring the organisation, services the needs of those who are disadvantaged.
David Copeland
Assistant Pastor
Elder David Copeland is the third of six children, born to Zelda and Lunan Copeland in the small town of Willenhall, West Midlands. He is the eldest of four boys born in this country, while his two older sisters were born in Jamaica.
From the time that his mother was a member of this church in the First United days, he has always been active in one capacity or another and this has contributed towards his growth and development as a child of God.
He has been married to wife Sadie for 38 years now and they are parents to 4 children who have been an immense blessing in their lives. Two of the four children are married and have further blessed the family with five grandchildren.
In ministry, David covers a fair bit of ground. He currently serves as the assistant pastor to Pastor O’Neil Lewis here at Bethel Lighthouse Christian Centre. You will also find him preaching, teaching (which is a great love of his) and leading the worship team on a Sunday morning. Over the years he has also served in a national capacity as an assistant youth president, national choir director and musician.
Outside of Bethel he is recognised as a renowned singer/songwriter, choir director, producer, arranger, musician and music teacher. His gift has certainly made room for him and has allowed him to travel to different countries in Europe where he has performed to crowd’s of up to 100,000 people. He has also conducted workshops in Spain, teaching people about the wonderful sound of gospel music. He has also lent his gift to others and you will find him on albums by various artists singing backing vocals and providing vocal arrangements.
If asked, David will tell you that although he is involved in so many areas, the ministry of music is still his strongest calling and God still has so much for him to do in that field.
In his downtime David loves to spend time with his family, reading, studying and listening to music.
To summarise, David’s main desire is to see God’s people achieve as much as they can of the potential available to them and is happy to help in whatever way he can.
Maureen Lewis
Missionary – Trustee
Maureen Lewis is the wife of Pastor O’Neil Lewis. With Bethel Lighthouse she is the Women’s Co-ordinator, part of the planning team, and church secretary.
Maureen is also the Chief Executive Officer of a local charity and her experience within the voluntary and community sector spans over 30 years, where she has contributed to the development of projects and services that meet the needs of vulnerable and disadvantages communities within Walsall and the West Midlands.
Maureen’s background in community development equips her with a plethora of knowledge of securing funding and project management, as well as governance and operations.
In 2021 Maureen was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion (MBCC) Awards, which recognised her for outstanding service in the voluntary and community sector.
As a wife, mother of four and grandmother of six, Maureen has a sincere passion for people: She is motivated by seeing people achieve their dreams, overcome barriers and create positive impact within society.
Janet Lewis
Minister
Minister Janet Lewis serves within leadership as a Youth Minister, also serving on the praise team at Bethel Lighthouse Church.
Minister Janet Lewis acquaintance with the biblical word derived from an early age, witnessing her parents, the late Deacon Thaddious and Evangelist Lewis’ ministry in reaching the unsaved. Janet is passionate about transforming lives through creatively using the word of God, to address todays Christian, societal, cultural and political issues. Janet was nurtured in prayer, bible studies, worship and fasting, within a family of diverse gift and talents, including 2 pastors. She is a mother of one child and grandmother, both her daughter and son in law serve within ministry.
Through her faith, vision and optimism, she has evolved into an innovative leader and motivational speaker who networks and provides youth facilities that extends beyond the pulpit. She holds a BA Hons Degree in Theology & Christian Counselling also Coaching. She utilises her invaluable experiences, tools, wisdom and revelatory insight in empowering others; to develop a spiritual renewed mindset to become uniquely their best. Through addressing the diverse needs of young people over the past 22 years, her passion is to; see them rise above mediocrity, reframe their world, maximise their potential, release their brilliance and fulfil their Godly destiny! Her aim is to integrate ministry into all phases of church life and community, for all to encounter the liberation of Jesus Christ.
